The first gift banking card available on the Italian market has been created by Publicenter for UniCredit Banca.
 
It is a rechargeable magnetic card that UniCredit Banca gives to selected customers and can be loaded up to a maximum value of euro 500. Whoever receives the card as a gift can use it in all qualified shops and can easily recharge it at an ATM branch, a bank branch of UniCredit Banca or even by means of a bank order, as the card is linked with a “virtual” current account with a relative CAB and ABI code.

The advantage for the bank is that it can attract potential clients – the beneficiaries of the gift – who can then decide to transform it into a classical rechargeable card, opening up a current account and subsequently becoming stable clients!!!
The bank can use this kind of card in partnerships with authorities, associations and companies in order to provide users with the possibility of using services such as restaurants, of paying in merchants, and others without having to use cash.
The gift card could be also given on the occasion of special events such as exhibitions and trade fairs.
