POLYSTIRENE

Polystyrene is a recyclable plastic that can be considered to be of "mass consumption" because of its diffusion and the very wide range of uses to which it is put in various product sectors. The composition of polystyrene is close to that of PVC to the point that it is considered as a more economic alternative that is particularly suitable for cards with a short life cycle. Polystyrene features excellent printability and dimensional stability.


Polystyrene is recommended for:

• all cards that will be subjected to a short period of use and that do not require special properties in terms of durability and strength
  
• production in 0.60 mm thickness which is more economical than the standard 0.76 mm; in this case the card occupies less wallet space, although thanks to the characteristics of polystyrene, its rigidity means that it feels like a standard thickness credit card (0.76 mm).
